Shoe Style Rules Wrap-up - Oxfords and Nude Heels

Well... MIA again, eh?? The husband surprised us with Baseball tickets...then we had a bunch of Easter prep. WHen it rains, it pours!!! So, today we will wrap it up and check out fun oxford/tennies/flats, and the all-important nude heels!

Tennie/Oxfords -
They may seem silly, or hard to wear, but I assure you they are not. A pair of comfortable oxfords is a great way to add a little casual chic to lots of styles. You can pair them with a summer dress, a skirt, shorts...the list goes on! I included some photos of Sienna Miller rocking hers for example...

Summer Shoe Rules for Women - Pt. 2 - the Candy-Colored Heel

The second summer neccessity shoe is the colorful heel. A great colorful pair of heels can take a morning in a crunch to completely fab in no time. The more awesome the shoe, the less you need in the outfit department! In fact, you definitely do NOT want to overdo the outfit when you wear these shoes. Grab a simple dress, throw on your colorful heels, and a few peices of jewelry, and voila'!

This summer there is a WIDE array of color. You can get color-blocked, one solid bright hue, or a pattern. No matter what, they are sure to get YOUR feet noticed.

Shoe rules for Women - Summer 2012 - pt. 1

So, before I left, I did a post on how to choose shoes for little girls.. it was received fairly well, so I am going to continue on with the theme, and do the same for women, men, and boys. Women, of course, require the most shoes ;) So, I am going to break women up into a few posts. Today, we will focus on decision #1. What type of nautical shoes will you wear? Nautical themed stuff is everywhere! It is cool, classic, and comfortable, and looks great! Just be sure not to get costumey!

A precurser - As a genereal rule of thumb for heels, I suggest that you avoid shoes with a strap that goes over your ankle. It makes everyone look a little more stumpy. If you are wanting to elongate your legs, or if you have thick or muscular calves to begin with, they are a definite no-no. Believe me, I know how adorable they are!! I DO have a few pairs myself, but I find that I don't wear them as much as I'd like, because, well...they make me look stumpy (and I'm 5'10"). Be sure that if you buy a pair, they are SO AWESOME that no one will be looking at your calves ;)

No Fail Shoe Buying Tips for Little Girls - Always Have a Matching Pair!

Have you ever been SUPER excited about an adorable outfit that you or your child have put together, then realize that NONE of your shoes look good with it? Totally ruins that outfit.. completely kills it :(

Today, I am going to help you out a little bit. We are going to do a girl's shoe wardrobe for summer. With a little strategy, and direction, you will have shoes to match any outfit possible!

-super cute and on-trend for summer, they will match most of her easy breezy outfits, and are comfortable and practical for days on the go.

-everyone needs a pair of sandals - for the beach, pool, picnic... these are Teal/Turquiose which is a universally flattering color..much easier to match with multiple items of clothing than any other bright color.

-Of all of the shoes here, these are the most important. You will be amazed what these match!! Any bronze colored shoe will go further than you could ever imagine..they just match everything - bronze is a much wiser choice than silver or gold.

-because they are fun, and on-trend - polka-dots and nautical.. a go to shoe for the cute fancy-pants in your life!

-every kid needs a good, supportive athletic shoe.. don't let them talk you into a goofy pair of colorful ones. You are gonna hate them! You will look at them as they run down the soccer field or court thinking they look like a total doofus! Grab a high quality pair of nuetral colored shoes... they will love these due to the added "bling" from the silver. May I also suggest that you do a dark/black pair. They will look cleaner/newer longer.
